What We Do
In the Marine Corps League Sgt. Byron W. Norwood Detachment 1022, all Marines, FMF Navy personnel, and individuals who support the organization's principles and purposes but aren't eligible for regular membership are welcome, regardless of the era in which we served, the units we served with, or the ranks we attained; regardless of our national origin, race, or sex --it's having honorably worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on the uniform collar that is important!
Our members come from different backgrounds. We vary in age. Our military and civilian experiences and knowledge vary, and our interests diverge, depending on past and current situations.
However, we all possess one common denominator...tradition!
And while membership in the Marine Corps League provides us with benefits at both the National and State levels, the most important benefits are those that occur at our Detachment level:
Association with Marines, FMF Navy personnel, and other like minded people from all eras and various units
Opportunities to contribute and support Detachment programs
Opportunities to work with Marines to achieve worthwhile objectives
Opportunities to support Marines and their families
The reward of personal and Detachment accomplishment and achievement
It is through our bond as Marines that we, the members of the Sgt. Byron Norwood Detachment 1022, continue to serve our communities with honor, integrity, and pride!
Programs and services of the Marine Corps League Sgt. Byron Norwood Detachment 1022 include, but are not limited to, the following:
